Impeach Eric Holder!

English: Official portrait of United States At...

Impeachment sound a little harsh? Then you are a coddler! Coddling those who display egregious behavior only reinforces said behavior. If we continue to put up with inappropriate behavior from government officials, such as Eric Holder’s, then that is precisely what we will get. Since 2009, the Department of Justice has used tax dollars to fund a “Dumb and Ridiculous” gun-running operation known as “Fast and Furious”, which has put dangerous weapons in the hands of drug cartels. And, now that thousands of guns are MIA and one Border agent is dead, Holder’s resignation is being demanded by many Republicans.

First and foremost, Eric Holder is not stupid by any sense of the word; diabolical yes, amoral yes –stupid, no. One excuse Holder gives for not turning over important documents to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is; an investigation is in progress that forbids him to do so. Well, Holder initiated said investigation (as he stated many times) quickly after the operation’s blunder hit the media. It is believed Holder knew initiating such an investigation would keep certain incriminating evidence from Congress, therefore delaying the process. Sound like the strategy of an inept ignorant man, or a cunning, slick shyster? Holder did not reach his position in the DOJ because of a life-time of inept performance; therefore, claiming ignorance cannot be an option.

Secondly, Eric Holder claims he doesn’t remember exactly when he was made aware of “Fast and Furious”. Sure bet he didn’t eat any of those $16 dollar muffins either (sarcasm). Let’s remind him: Mr. Holder, remember the Mexico press conference in 2009 where you more or less bragged about DOJ’s Operation “Fast and Furious”? Furthermore, do you think “We the People” believe for one second you knew absolutely nothing of the operations within the Department of Justice sir? Since you obviously cannot handle said job sir –you must go; willingly or not! Americans deserve better from their employees, and you sir are criminal in the eyes of this American!

What is more outrageous is, Eric Holder could not even grasp a little common decency and call the family of slain Border Agent Brian Terry. No “I’m sorry for your loss” or nothing –guess Holder’s “give a damn is busted”. Could it be the guilt? Or, is it his arrogance?

“Under “Fast and Furious” ATF agents recorded and tracked straw purchases of weapons and allowed the guns to “walk” across the U.S. border into Mexico in an effort to locate major weapons traffickers, rather than catching the low-level buyers. The operation took a tragic toll when two weapons where Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was murdered were linked to the ATF program” (Kinzel, 2011).

There is no doubt the DOJ has the blood of Brian Terry on its hands; however, it isn’t likely any one will step up and accept responsibility for the inapt operation that caused the DOJ’s fall from Grace. Holder has recently said more firearms from Operation “Fast and Furious” will certainly show up at future crime scenes in both Mexico and America.

Holder admitted, “Although the department has taken steps to ensure that such tactics are never used again, it is an unfortunate reality that we will continue to feel the effects of this flawed operation for years to come”…“Guns lost during this operation will continue to show up at crime scenes on both sides of the border.”

The one thing Holder won’t admit, as the Attorney General he is ultimately responsible for the operations of the DOJ; good, bad, or indifferent, the buck stops with Holder. That said it is time for Eric Holder to take responsibility and resign –or be impeached. America no longer has faith in the ability of the Department of Justice or its leadership, and this will not change until Holder and a few high-ranking officials are fired. What happened to “Justice for all”? Where is the justice for the family of Agent Brian Terry? The firing and/or impeachment of Eric Holder, Lanny Breuer, and any entity who knowingly participated in “Fast and Furious” would be a start. This American votes Impeachment!

ATF’s Fast and Furious Turns Dumb and Ridiculous

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explo...

In 2009, the ATF (under the leadership of Kenneth E. Melson) took to gun-running
in a ridiculous attempt to apprehend Mexican gun traffickers and drug cartel
members. What transpired however was an historical investigation into the
operations, policies, and procedures of the ATF and beyond. Guns sold as part
of Operation Fast and Furious have surfaced at crime scenes in both America and
Mexico –depicting the ATF’s operation as dumb and ridiculous.

“Under “Fast and Furious” ATF agents
recorded and tracked straw purchases of weapons and allowed the guns to “walk”
across the U.S. border into Mexico in an effort to locate major weapons
traffickers, rather than catching the low-level buyers. The operation took a
tragic toll when two weapons where Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was murdered
were linked to the ATF program” (Ryan, 2011).

            The ATF’s dumb and ridiculous
operation is now under investigation by the House Committee on Oversight and
Government Reform, as well as the Senate Committee on the Judiciary for their
actions (or lack thereof) that ultimately lead to the loss of thousands of
firearms, that are now being recovered at horrific crime scenes across the
border and on American soil.

            “According to an investigative
report compiled for [the] two congressional committees investigating the operation,
122 weapons have been recovered at 48 crime scenes in Mexico. [A] joint report
for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Senate
Committee on the Judiciary also details how guns from the ATF operation were
used in the kidnapping and murder of a Mexican official’s brother” (Associated
Press, 2011).

The egregious conduct of the ATF has
Americans and the Mexican Government asking just how this was allowed to happen.
How deep the incompetence and corruption does run, and, were White House officials
aware of the inapt operation? Republican Darrell Issa of California called the
ATF’s handling of the operation “felony-stupid bad judgment” obviously
disgusted with the operations lack of competent leadership. Some Americans are
wondering if the “felony-stupid bad judgment” is in fact felony-corruption;
furthermore, was Agent Brian Terry murdered for lack of participation and assimilation
to a corrupt ATF?

As heads begin to roll, Fox News reported on August 31st :

            “Acting
ATF Director Kenneth Melson has been reassigned to a lesser post in the Justice
Department and the U.S. attorney for Arizona [Dennis Burke] was also pushed out
Tuesday as fallout from Operation Fast and Furious reached new heights”
(Lajeunesse, 2011).

More heads are certain to roll as
the investigations into Fast and Furious continue beyond that of the ATF. Accusations
have also been waged against the FBI, DEA, Department of Homeland Security, and
a few high-ranking officials of the Justice Department; accusations that reach
all the way to the White House.

Meth America: Mr. President I Want Action!

With his family by his side, Barack Obama is s...

Image via Wikipedia

From Portland, Oregon too Pulaski, Tennessee
methamphetamine has riddled streets and taken countless lives in one form or
another. As the drug continues to sweep the nation, claiming city and rural
streets as its own, government heads turn in the direction of the 2012
election, entitlement reform(which needs reform), and screwing the elderly’s  Medicare programs that they worked all their
lives to obtain. “The state [of Tennessee] ranked second only to Missouri last
year for reported labs” (Matt Lakin, 2011). Where is the government on this
issue? Threatening to cut funding for America’s finest Police Officers and
Drug Task groups that work tirelessly putting their lives on the line to combat
the problem and jail offenders -that’s where! “Another year set another record
for methamphetamine labs in Tennessee, with nearly 2,100 suspected labs busted
last year, higher even than initially projected …an increase of 45% from 2009”
(Matt Lakin, 2011). This astonishing number only accounts for one state’s count
out of a nation of 50; imagine the count if coupled with the rest of the United
States lab counts.

In a recent report from methresourse.gov, it gives some explanations
for the lab counts and meth problem in Tennessee: Suggesting,

“The labs that are discovered in Tennessee are generally
characterized as small and unsophisticated…These labs continue to pose a
significant threat [however], because lab operators are frequently armed and substantially
involved in the drug’s distribution and therefore tend to place booby traps
around the sites” (methresources.gov, 2011).

This resource site goes on to explain that: “Much of the
methamphetamine consumed in the state [of Tennessee] is transported from Mexico
and the southwest border states” (methresources.gov, 2011); providing another
prominent reason for tighter border control and immigration reform. While the
methamphetamine and other drugs flow into the U.S, President Obama refuses to
secure our borders properly and deport illegal immigrants. Is the problem
simply because of unsecured borders? Not at all; however, securing the border
would show a good-faith act on the President’s part –proving that he is part of
the solution and not the problem. It is the government’s job to keep Americans
safe from any threat, and methamphetamine is more than a treat; furthermore,
the dealers of such drugs are terrorists that need to be extinguished.

That being said: Recently I had an unfortunate chance to
stay at the Budget Inn on HW 31 in Pulaski, Tennessee. For one week I stayed in
a room that had previously been occupied by a drug dealer; the knocks on the
door and phone calls plagued me until the morning I checked out. I complained
to the owners with no recourse except an offer to change rooms. That would have
been fine minus the fact that except for two other guests the rest of the rooms
had been occupied by the same; drug dealers and seekers were walking the
parking lot, there was continuous traffic 24/7, and one particular dealer was
going door-to-door delivering meth. Being a student and writer, sleepless
nights and fear is not what I paid for nor did I want; not to mention the owner’s
son cruising the parking lot ringing a cowbell to warn the dealers when the
police were near. That’s right –I said the owner’s son! It seemed that not only
were the owners’ renting to these low-lives, they were warning them as well. I
was being terrorized by my fellow Americans; sleeping with an open knife to
protect myself.

Should we as Americans be subjected to this kind of
behavior and terrorism? No! However, police work hard putting these dealers and
cookers in jail just for the justice system to slap their hand and set them
free. Where is the justice in that? The frustration with this process shows on
the face of every police officer and DEA agent putting their life on the line
to catch and re-catch these dealers, with no end in sight. Now, with the
economy in utter peril, congress and government officials are talking cuts to
funding. This is a war on our own soil Mr. President and warrants the action of
the National Guard at the very least; furthermore, tougher penalties must be
imposed on these home-grown terrorists –as well as tougher immigration laws (or
letting states impose existing ones) and strict border control. If such action
is not taken, America is sure to be lost to the degenerates that cook and push
methamphetamine. And, Mr. President –I will give you the credit for putting the
lives of me and fellow Americans at risk sir!

States are coming up with tougher over-the-counter drug
laws to throw a wrench in the drug dealers’ cooking plans, but it has not
stopped the cookers’ from finding alternative action such as “supersmurfing” (finding
and paying others to store hop and purchase pseudoephedrine). “In 2005, Oregon
passed the strictest limits in the nation on the ingredients of meth…Oregon was
the first to require a prescription to get the cold-remedy pseudoephedrine” (Colin
Fogarty, 2007). Yet, Oregon’s methamphetamine problems still exist; costing
hundreds of lives a year. “Methamphetamine-related  deaths in Oregon jumped 22% in 2010, claiming
106 lives –the most in a single year over the last decade, according to
statistics compiled by the state medical examiner” (Maxine Bernstein, 2011).
How many lives must be lost to this drug before the government steps in Mr.
President? How many times must I sleep with an open knife afraid to walk down
America’s sidewalks sir?

In conclusion, Tennessee and Oregon are only a small part
of this meth America; 48 other states have similar or worse issues. America as
a whole is affected terribly by this mind-altering evil and it must stop. If
the President will send our military over-seas to accomplish peace and safety for
others: Why is he not doing so in HIS own country? Could it be the minority
vote he hopes to secure again? Americans need action from the American
Government and President to keep us safe; if congress and the President refuse
this service to their country –I consider it tyranny and an act of desertion at
best and they all should be removed from office!

“America
will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

Abraham Lincoln

This
country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever
they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their
Constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember
it or overthrow it.”

Abraham Lincoln

“The
dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is
piled high with difficulty and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new,
we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we
shall save our country”.

Abraham Lincoln

ENTITLEMENTS for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

america in a nutshell / they're all nuts

Entitlements
for Illegal Immigrants

            “All
men are created Equal” in its totality has never held true in any country or
culture. As human beings, our sense of arrogance seems to be inborn; believing
that class, color, looks, money, or status makes one better than the other
(low-class, middle-class, high-class, and back, white, Mexican). While creation
makes us each totally different in many ways, none of us are better than the
other; if we eliminate class, color, money, and status from the equation we
are all simply people. With this in mind, coupled with the criteria for
judgment, I do not believe that illegal immigrants have rights to the same
entitlements as legal citizens. If we are indeed, equal, than we all must
adhere to the same sense of principles; no exception, as no one person deserves
considerations another cannot get.

While I do believe passionately in education, the privilege to drive, some entitlements, and social security, giving these privileges to people whom are here illegally is unethical using any criteria. Obligation, morality, and more importantly consequences dictate a need for the current policies, which protect country borders, not just here in the United States, but around the world. World history has proven a need for a country’s stringent laws concerning entering another country for any reason; 9/11 is a perfect example of the need for such concern. Unfortunately, not every human being considers another’s life, virtue, or property, as being their right, furthermore, some extremists believe it is their ethical duty to kill other nationalities shall they be given citizens rights and entitlements?

Ideally, if every person on earth
respected the rights and feelings of others, the need for borders, policies,
and laws, would be unnecessary. The fact remains that there are indeed evil
people in existence, and these laws and policies are not only
necessary, but also critical for the security of every country around the
world. While I continually pray for peace on earth, and the ability for man to
roam free, I believe that this will only happen upon the coming of the Lord.

The reason that I chose this inquiry
is because not only do I truly believe in protecting a country and its people,
but not everyone is good, that is pure fact; I do not want to let any more evil
into this country. We need to know who is entering. Everyone who has good
intentions is welcome as far as I am concerned, however, those that are not
peaceful cannot. As I read this inquiry, I put myself in the shoes of the
illegal immigrant, to think their way; would I try to go to another country
illegally? No, I would not. The only practical reason that I could find for
someone entering illegally was, that they could not enter legally for criminal
issues. Therefore, I could not connect good reasoning with the action.
